Funerals

Loving God, you alone are the source of life. May your life-giving Spirit flow through us, and fill us with compassion, one for another. In our sorrow give us the calm of your peace. Kindle our hope, and let our grief give way to joy; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Funerals in either St Barnabas Church, Kalamunda or St Swithun’s Church, Lesmurdie, are arranged through the parish priest. A funeral can also be held in another appropriate place, such as a chapel. Use the form below to make contact.

Pastoral care for a person who is coming to the end of their life, and for their friends and family, is also offered.

The Anglican tradition provides a shape for a funeral service. We gather together and offer thanks to God for the person who has died. We remember the life, death, and resurrection of Christ. We pray for one another, and for those in need, and we leave the person who has died in the care of God, trusting in God’s mercy. We then continue life’s journey.

When you meet with the parish priest, your particular needs and wishes for the service will be heard and responded to.

There is no charge for a funeral, although a donation is often made.

Use the form below to get in touch, and we will get back to you soon.
